As a result of public safety concerns relating to a steep sandstone cliff face behind and close to the Bexley Road tennis courts in Bexley NSW, Rockdale City Council engaged the firm to undertake a stability & risk assessment of the cliff face. This assessment, which included detailed mapping of the cliff face & assessment of the risk of rock fall, identified a number of serious 'public safety' issues and thus recommended urgent remedial action.
Subsequently, the firm was commissioned by the Council to design and review the construction of, the required cliff face stabilisation works. The work undertaken at the site [and designed by the firm] included cliff scaling, rock block removal & rock bolting, the construction of a rock catch fence / wall at the rear of the carpark, and reconstruction of the tennis court fencing.
